Semrush Holdings, a company that manages online visibility, saw its stock rise 5% on Thursday after the company announced the acquisition of search optimization startup Backlinko on Wednesday evening.
Despite the lack of financial information, the agreement for the SEO training portal means Semrush will get 500,000 monthly visitors.
Backlinko is a content and video marketing, link building, social media, and SEO training company that was founded in 2012. Backlinko is one component of Semrush's ambition to establish an online, self-service training platform, according to the company, which provides tools for managing a website's online visibility.
Backlinko creator Brian Dean is "considered one of the best digital marketing professionals," according to Andrew Warden, chief marketing officer of Semrush.
"We are ecstatic to welcome him and his team to the Semrush family." We now offer one of the most comprehensive digital marketing and SEO training tools on the web, thanks to our own Semrush Academy," Warden added.
