According to provisional figures from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), industrial production increased by 2.8% in October 2021 compared to the previous month on a price, seasonally, and calendar adjusted basis. Industry's calendar adjusted production decreased by 0.6% in October 2021 compared to October 2020. 

In seasonally and calendar adjusted terms, production in October 2021 was 6.5% lower than in February 2020, the month when restrictions were implemented due to the corona pandemic in Germany.

Production in industry, excluding energy and construction, increased by 3.2% in October 2021. The production of capital goods increased by 8.2% within industry. The production of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers increased by 12.6%. 

Intermediate goods production fell by 0.4%, while consumer goods production fell by 0.1%. Outside of industry, energy production production increased by 0.9%, while construction production increased by 1.2% on the previous month.

The corrected result for industrial production in September 2021 showed a decrease of 0.5% (provisional: -1.1%) over August 2021.
