GameStop is branching out into the metaverse, according to a job posting. The company is looking for people who have "created things from the ground up" and "dabbled in the new Web3 realm."

The video game shop is also looking for someone with "a general understanding and familiarity with Ethereum, NFTs, and blockchain-based gaming platforms," according to the job posting.GameStop surge reportedly under federal investigation for possible manipulation - The Verge

According to GameStop's job posting, games will "be places to go, and play is driven by the things you bring," among other metaverse elements.

GameStop developed a dedicated NFT page in May, stating that it is looking to hire engineers, designers, players, marketers, and community leaders. While there is no mention of an NFT marketplace on the page, all roads seem to lead there.

GameStop's stock soared to $181.55 in the early portion of Tuesday's trading session. However, they have since lost 0.2% of their value.
