Plug Power announced Tuesday that it has inked a long-term supply and logistics deal with Certarus, a compressed natural gas transportation company.

The companies want to improve North America's green hydrogen supply chain. Plug Power's hydrogen production network will provide Certarus with up to 10 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, with first deliveries scheduled in the first quarter of 2022.

Certarus' fleet of compressed gas delivery trailers will next transport the hydrogen from the production sites to Plug Power and Certarus' end consumers, who include mining, power generation, natural gas midstream, and industrial energy companies. In addition, the companies will collaborate on the provision of Plug Power equipment.

The companies stated that their goal is to make hydrogen fuel a more practical choice for enterprises looking to cut carbon emissions and meet ESG objectives.

According to Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug Power, the goal is "to deliver 500 tonnes per day of green hydrogen by 2025 and 1,000 tonnes per day by 2028," "The partnership with Certarus is a meaningful step in building out the green hydrogen ecosystem to serve large energy sectors and in providing Plug Power the ability to flex and scale our overall delivery capabilities." says the company.

The news hasn't helped Plug's stock price, which has been on the decline for the past three days and is currently down 5%.
