The US dollar index rose on Monday, despite the fact that US markets were closed for the holiday. The dollar rose against all of its G-10 counterparts as Treasury futures prices fell, implying higher yields when trading resumes. The dollar-yen exchange rate surpassed 142 for the first time since November, but the yen strengthened against other currencies.
