The yen was the worst performer among its Group-of-10 currency peers, falling to a record low against the franc as the Bank of Japan and other major central banks, including the Swiss National Bank, diverged on monetary policy. The Norwegian krone gained ground against the US dollar after Norges Bank increased its key deposit rate by 50 basis points.
