Sentiment
Following US data that suggested a smaller step up in the federal reserve's monetary-tightening path, a gauge of the dollar's strength rebounded after dropping to its lowest level since April. The yen recovered against the greenback after falling against all of its major peers as the Bank of Japan disappointed expectations that it would become more hawkish. US treasuries extended their historic new-year rally on Wednesday, with five- and 10-year yields falling to their lowest levels since September.
