In order to prevent the US government from shutting down on October 1 for a month, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy made a number of requests, including restarting border wall construction and temporarily cutting expenditure for domestic agencies by 8%.

Two distinct reports revealed that the rental cost growth rate in Britain broke a previous record and that home sellers increased their asking prices for the first time in four months.

During two days of discussions that ended on Sunday, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed a potential summit of their leaders as well as communication lines between the two largest economies in the world.

As OPEC+ supply restrictions pressured the market, oil prices maintained close to a 10-month high. Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman is scheduled to speak at a conference about the country's position on net zero and its crude policy.
