The conflict between Israel and the militant group Hamas has pushed up oil prices amid fears that it will exacerbate tensions in the Middle East, which produces one-third of the world's crude.
According to oil analysts, Israel's military actions have added new geopolitical risk to a market already roiled by supply cuts, falling inventories, and concerns about high prices impacting demand.

The annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have begun in Morocco.

Global trade is showing the first, tentative signs that the worst of the downturn is over.
