It's United States Jobs Day, and the report should reveal that payrolls increased by another 202,000 in December, according to median analyst forecasts.

For the third consecutive month in December, US small business owners scaled back their hiring intentions, and a lower percentage of them had open positions.

Rates are getting closer to a high enough level in order to lower inflation, according to St. Louis Fed President James Bullard.

For the first time since August, euro-area inflation dropped back to single digits, although the fall hides underlying pressures.
